Join us at one of our upcoming on-site open events and explore two highly rewarding fields: Learning Disability Nursing and Mental Health Nursing. Whether you're just starting to explore your options or are ready to apply, these sessions are a great way to find out which path is right for you.

Learning Disability Nursing - Thursday 14 August, 10am – 1pm

Wheeler, Chester.

At this event you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Explore how to support individuals with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling lives
  • Take part in an interactive hands-on activity in our simulation suite
  • Learn how our course prepares you to work in person-centred, community-based roles

Mental Health Nursing – Wednesday 20 August, 10am–12pm

Wheeler, Chester

At this event you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Gain insights into working with people experiencing mental health challenges
  • Learn about key areas such as risk assessment, psychiatric disorders, therapeutic relationships and the role of medication
  • Discover how our course equips you for a range of mental health care settings

How to get here

The Wheeler building is located in the centre of Chester on Castle Drive by the River Dee. It is accessible via the M53, A55, A483, A51 and A41, and public transport from the city centre.

There are cycle shelters at Queen’s Park which are marked with a yellow circle and the letter C on University location maps.

Chester railway station is a 20-minute walk from Wheeler and the Arriva 1 and 11 run frequent services that stop within a short walking distance. The Arrowebrook Coaches 26 also stops nearby. Parking is not available for students at Wheeler, however, all three Park and Ride routes, PR1, PR2 and PR3 have connections within walking distance to the site.
