Gemma Bunkle
Senior LecturerAs Deputy Programme Leader of Primary and Early Years Primary Education BA (with QTS) programmes in the School of Education at the University of Chester, Gemma has a variety of roles and responsibilities including leading the level six cohort. Gemma was previously a qualified primary school teacher with experience of teaching in York and Cheshire, who joined the university as Senior Lecturer in Primary English in 2014.
Gemma teaches English across the undergraduate and post graduate Primary Education programmes. She also teaches Education Professional Studies at level six with a focus on formative assessment and educational philosophy as well as preparation for school-based learning at undergraduate level.
Gemma completed a Master's in Teaching and Learning with an English pathway in 2016. The research area was the writing process, in which Gemma completed a practitioner study in a partnership school. This and grammar are fields that are current research interests.
