Associate Professor Johanna Bacon

As Associate Dean I manage the Faculty's budget and resources.  I lead on academic development and research activity for the Faculty.

I have worked in the university since 2004 as an Academic Skills Tutor (for students with Specific Learning Difficulties) and as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Management and in the Faculty of Education and Children's Services.

Prior to this I was a Community Manager at Connexions (Cheshire and Warrington) working with service providers to plan and deliver services for young people.

This followed on from managing projects in Manchester where we sought to make education and training accessible to those young people who were self-excluding from mainstream education.

My earlier career started as a secondary teacher in business, economics and maths and I became Head of Business, Science and Maths at Shena Simon Sixth Form College in 1999.
