Wendy Garner

Wendy came to Chester in 2002 and currently teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes provided by the Faculty of Education and Children's Services.

Prior to Chester, Wendy worked for six years at Hope University, in both the Environmental and Biological Studies Department and the Education Deanery.

Wendy was formerly a primary school teacher and geography coordinator and has experience of teaching children at Key Stages 1 and 2 of the National Curriculum.

She has also worked as an Advisory Teacher in Cheshire and has in the past been a regular provider of lectures and workshops at national and international conferences. She has held various posts, including Research Officer of the Geographical Association and Trustee/ Executive Committee member of the Field Studies Council. Current teaching includes contributions to the Global Dimension theme and Humanities subjects for primary undergraduates and PGCE primary students. Wendy also teaches on the Education Studies degree route.

National work includes involvement in writing the QCA scheme of work for geography (KS1 and 2), contributions to the National Curriculum Review (2000) as a member of the Geography Task Force and consultancy to the QCA 'Innovating with Geography' web site.
