Associate Professor Ben Broughton

Ben began as a blues guitarist and cellist at the age of 7, going on to be classically trained as a double bass player. 

He is an accomplished session musician and sound engineer with 25 years experience in these fields. In 2004, with his brother Joe, Ben headlined the Hong Kong International Folk Festival.

Ben has worked for the University of Chester since 1999, introducing Popular Music into the degree portfolio in 2005.

Ben also continues to sing, play bass, guitar and harmonica nationally and internationally, and is a sought after sound engineer for both live and recording sessions.
