Amanda McGarry
Senior Lecturer, Counselling and PsychotherapyAmanda is a Senior Lecturer in the department of Social and Political Science teaching on the Counselling Skills undergraduate programme and the masters in Clinical Counselling.
Amanda is the module leader for three undergraduate modules, ethics in the helping relationship, embedded counselling skills in context, and developing multicultural competence. She supports students in their personal development whilst completing their counselling training at postgraduate level and is a research supervisor.
Amanda's research interests are focused around the issues of social justice in the therapeutic relationship with a particular focus on gender and feminism, and suicide within the context of the person-centred approach.
