Dr Daniel Bos

Dr Daniel Bos is a senior lecturer in Human Geography and Combined Honours Geography Programme Leader at the University of Chester, UK. Dr Daniel Bos’s research interests focus on three areas:

Landscape: Daniel’s more recent research explores the historical and contemporary human-environmental encounters with the mountains and landscapes of Wales, utilising creative and in-depth qualitative methods.

Popular Geopolitics: Daniel is interested in the role of popular culture, particularly video games, in reinforcing and challenging popular understandings of geopolitics, national identity, and cultures of militarism.

Visual Culture and Technologies: This area of research focuses on the role of Virtual Reality (VR) technologies in shaping social-spatial relations and the pedagogical impact of such technologies on teaching and learning in geography. In 2021, Daniel created the Experimenting with Digital and Immersive Technologies (EDIT) university-wide special interest group.
