Emily Fozard

Emily Fozard is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of the BA Counselling Skills (Combined Hons) at the University of Chester. Emily began working at the University of Chester in 2019. She is currently the module leader for four undergraduate modules: SO4402 Core Values in Counselling Skills, SO4404 Development of Counselling Skills, SO5404 Enhancing Counselling Skills and SO6401 Using Counselling Skills in the Workplace. She has previously taught on the postgraduate certificate in Psychological Trauma. Emily is also a supervisor and secondary supervisor for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students conducting their research. Emily is also a professional counsellor, having completed her counsellor training at the University of Chester in 2016. She is currently studying on the Doctor of Professional Studies in Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies at the University of Chester; she is hoping to submit her thesis in the academic year 2023/24.

Emily is interested in further research in counselling and previous areas of research have looked at family dynamics, parental conflict and also music within therapy. Previous published work includes:
