Anthony Olagunju

My background is in the Biological Sciences where I majored in Public Health Parasitology. A passion to pursue a career in preventive and social medicine inspired me to study public health at the postgraduate level, after which I earned my doctorate in public health. My doctoral research study adopted a constructivist grounded theory methodological approach to explore the interplay of disability stigma and social injustices on the health, personal/group identity, and wellbeing status of persons with albinism.

With over seven years of experience in international public health practice, I am enthusiastic to support students develop excellent theoretical knowledge and skills for real-world public health practice.

I teach on the Master of Public Health programme, particularly on the following modules: Epidemiology and Statistics for Public Health, Communicable Diseases in Public Health, and The Economics of Health.

Currently, I am actively involved in dissertation supervision and marking at Level 7 for MPH students.

My teaching and research interests lie within the spectrum of leadership, governance, and management of public health interventions, as well as investigating experiences of morbidity and social injustices amongst disadvantaged groups to highlight implications for public health practice and policy.
