Penny Karakitsou
Senior Lecturer
Penny Karakitsou is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health in the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Society at the University of Chester, UK. With a wealth of experience spanning over 17 years, she is a dedicated nurse who has excelled in various departments throughout her career.
Penny Karakitsou has also provided invaluable guidance to numerous student nurses under her supervision. Prior to her current role at Chester University, she worked as a pre-assessment nurse, with a focus on empowering her patients through education.
Penny Karakitsou is currently new to teaching yet she will engage in imparting education in the Public Health programme.
She is currently contributing to the active management of dissertations, along with marking and supervising at Level 7 for MPH students.
Penny Karakitsou has a vested interest in studying the factors that influence childhood immunization in low- and middle-income countries and strategies promoting childhood vaccination.
Additionally, she has a particular interest in interventions geared towards promoting women's empowerment. She firmly believes that promoting childhood vaccination and empowering women can bring significant positive change in these communities.
