Jenny Devine
Senior LecturerJenny Devine is a Senior Lecturer in Practice Education and Simulated Learning within the University of Chester. Jenny is an NMC Registered Children’s Nurse with clinical experience in critical care, palliative care and safeguarding children and young people. Jenny teaches on paediatric clinical skill-based modules across all years of the Pre-Registration Nursing Programme and enjoys teaching anatomy and human biology. Jenny supported her transition into Higher Education with the completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education. The support that Jenny offers extends into practice and Jenny offers extensive and expert support to students and staff during practice placements. Jenny collaborates regionally with Higher Education Institutes, practice partners and stakeholders across the NHS and private sector. Jenny works to quality assure learning and placement experiences for student nurses. Jenny was a contributing researcher on the Creative Health project which informs social prescribing in primary care. Jenny is also responsible for safeguarding students within the university as a Safeguarding Lead for the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. Due to her keen interest in this area Jenny chose to pursue her Master of Science in this field and continues to drive forward the agenda of student safety throughout the university journey.
A mixture of theory and skills; both children’s nursing specific and more broadly across the four fields of nursing. Traditional lectures in addition to practical and simulation-based teaching utilising our new technology here at the University of Chester.
