I worked for 20 years as a research scientist in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries & I worked for 12 years as research chemist in biopharmaceutical research and development for a large multinational pharmaceutical company and gained so many different skills and knowledge in pharmaceuticals, formulation design and technology.
My inspiration for becoming a learning disability nurse stems from my own experiences as a parent and carer of a son with a learning disability. I qualified in January 2012 as a nurse, although have been a parent/carer since 2000 with all the experiences I gain daily from that. I worked in the NHS and Independent sectors supporting adults with complex physical and mental health and neurological conditions. I have worked at University of Chester since 2015.
