Dr Kevin Rodgers
LecturerKevin is involved in teaching and supervision at undergraduate and post graduate levels both at Chester and the Shrewsbury Campus. He has an interest in all aspects of occupational psychology with particular interest in authenticity and how openness to internal communication in organisations can be influenced and enhanced by personal traits and preferences.
Kevin is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, a member of the HCPC and a Principal Member of the Association of Business Psychologists.
Kevin is currently teaching Core Topics in Psychology (PS4010), Problem Solving in the Real World (PS4209 – Shrewsbury), Using your psychology (PS5008), Becoming a Psychological Researcher (PS5015) and has some dissertation supervision responsibilities.
He is module leader for - Organisational Psychology and Career Planning (PS6208 - Shrewsbury) and is temporary module leader for Using Your Psychology (PS5008).
Kevin is keen to expand his research into authenticity, especially the authenticity of social group membership, and the impact of this and other personal traits and preferences on openness to communication channels.
A consultant practitioner in occupational psychology, working with many organisations across sectors and continents, Kevin has a wealth of experience applying psychology in the workplace.

Kevin is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, a member of the HCPC and a Principal Member of the Association of Business Psychologists and is a registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Kevin received his undergraduate BSc degree in Applied Psychology (1996) at the University of Central Lancashire where his dissertation looked at the impact of TUPE on job satisfaction and organisational commitment. His MSc degree in Occupational Psychology was awarded at Liverpool John Moores University (1998) and his dissertation focused on the antecedents and impact of stress in the teaching profession. Kevin completed his PhD, researching authenticity and internal communication, at Manchester Metropolitan University (2021).
