Dr Debbie Rowlett

Dr Debbie Rowlett is the Programme Leader for the Business Management Hons Degree and also the Business Management and Administration Top Up Hons Degree, within the Faculty of Science, Business and Enterprise at the University of Chester. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has Certified Business Management Educator status from The Chartered Association of Business Schools.

Dr Debbie Rowlett has accumulated over 26 years of managing and teaching experiences across a wide range of areas, including Higher Education, Further Education, and community-based counselling and mediation. She has worked within industry for a Social Enterprise across a range of projects including bidding for funding, research projects and events management, as well as working as a mediating and counselling practitioner.

In 2020 Dr Debbie Rowlett was awarded a Doctorate in Student Wellbeing and Higher Education. This research relates to understanding the impact Independent Learning Skills have on student wellbeing, during their university journey and proposed an innovative model for practical application. She also works as an External Examiner.

Dr Debbie Rowlett currently leads and teaches on a range of modules at Ug. and Pg. level, including, Operational Decision Making, International Business, Creative Thinking and Problem solving for Managers and Professional Practices. She is also a Masters and PHD supervisor.

Dr. Debbie Rowlett’s experiences of working within education and working as a teacher trainer, have instilled a great passion for designing innovative teaching and learning strategies and ensuring high quality standards at all levels. Current research includes Innovative mentoring strategies, Developing critical thinking for students, Quality within Higher Education and Personalised learning within Higher Education.
