Following an extensive career in industry Ian has been a senior lecturer and International Business programme leader for almost 10 years teaching at both undergraduate and post-graduate level.

Ian enjoyed a long career in international banking, capital markets, money markets and emerging markets foreign exchange thus his keen interest in international business and global economic and political issues. His international management role involved coordinating a multi-cultural, globally dispersed trading team living in London, New York and Singapore where he travelled extensively across Asia, Australia and India. An interest in exploiting the benefits and disruptive potential of technology and the internet led to a position in the foundation of an e-commerce team.

As a business and management consultant, Ian spent many years assisting companies and public sector organisations achieve business strategy goals with a focus on operational efficiency. Ian has an MBA and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

Having gained a PGCert (HE) and becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) Ian has now enjoyed 10 years at the University of Chester teaching a range of business and finance modules, and particularly supporting students to develop and achieve their potential.

Ian is a registered Chartered Management Business Educator with the Chartered Association of Business Schools. Ian has been a Member of the Chartered Management Institute; Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE) (member and registered mentor); Member of Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative (SFEDI) (member and registered mentor).

Ian is a trustee of the Bren Project, a registered charity based in Chester dedicated to the provision of supported work placements to people with learning disabilities.

Teaching a range of business and finance modules for almost 10 years, Ian enjoys supporting students to develop and achieve their potential.

Ian teaches on modules at both Undergraduate and Masters level encompassing globalisation, international business, leadership and management, cross-cultural awareness and finance as well as supervising and supporting dissertation students at both Undergraduate and Masters level.
