Trina Roberts
Senior LecturerTrina joined the University of Chester’s Business School (CBS), in September 2016 and is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Lead.
She brings with her a wealth of experience in designing, leading and delivering quality learning experiences at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels as well as over 25 years’ experience in teaching vocational subjects in the Business and Management sector.
Her engaging style, ability to champion entrepreneurial thinking and her passion for learning and growth has meant that she has been nominated by students and won several University of Chester teaching awards including Teaching Excellence and Outstanding Lecturer of the Year.
Trina is an active member of the CBS community, for example by sitting on the CBS Research Ethics Committee and is also part of the wider organisations Athena Swan Self Assessment Team (SAT).
Trina is also a business consultant with direct experience and a proven track-record as an industry practitioner with specialisms in training and development solutions and frameworks, people management and business development within private, public and third sectors. She has direct experience of managing and leading others, delivering change in challenging environments, working both at strategic and operational levels with teams, individuals and whole organisations to inspire and support them to achieve successful change, transformation and growth. Trina's organisation particularly focuses on creating, delivering and evaluating a range of interactive, impactful resources, programmes and solutions for individuals, groups and organisation facing changes and transition. Trina combines this practical, useful, real-life experience with academic models and thinking to help prepare University of Chester students for the world of work.
Trina currently works across a number of Business and Management programmes, teaching undergraduate students at levels 4, 5, and 6 and post graduates students at level 7, in particular specialises in teaching in the following areas;
Managing New Business Ventures,
Leading and Managing Change,
People Management,
Organisational Decision Making,
Sustainable Entrepreneurship,
Leading and Maximising Performance.
Innovation and Creative Problem Solving.
Trina also shares her Business and Management experience across various faculties by designing and teaching Level 7 students modules which focus on Entrepreneurship and Innovation within their own specialist degree areas (i.e. Bio Technology), and also delivering guest speaker sessions on Under Graduate programmes such as Musical Theatre.
Trina is particularly interested in exploring and understanding the role, impact and timing of Mentors / Coaches / Personal Academic Tutors type posts.
Trina works with a various level 6 and 7 students as Dissertation Supervisor, supporting them on their academic research journeys and she is also an active member of Chester Business School's Research Ethics Committee.
