Business and Events Management BA (Hons)

"My course is taught by expert lecturers with not only academic credentials but real industry experience, with modules shaped by what they have learnt is needed to be successful in the industry you want to enter."
I initially chose to study at the University of Chester due to the option of combining Business and Events Management. The campus, people, lecturers, facilities and hands on experience was something I wasn’t sure I’d get due to the limited options I had when applying to university, however UOC really is a great package deal. It sums up what university should be. My course is taught by expert lecturers with not only academic credentials but real industry experience, with modules shaped by what they have learnt is needed to be successful in the industry you want to enter. I’ve met great friends through the different styles of teaching from each lecturer, and been supported by my personal academic tutor at every turn and issue that has arisen. My guest speaker highlight is Kate Swift coming in to speak to us about her career in venue and events management, and my favourite lecture activity was using LEGO Serious Play to demonstrate teamworking and how to manage issues arising in the workplace.
