Richard Waddington
Chief Financial OfficerRichard studied Accounting and Financial Analysis at Newcastle University and after graduating with a BA(Hons) qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) at a licensed wholesale company in Deeside. He went on to undertake his MBA here at Chester.
In June 2016 he was appointed as Chief Financial Officer/Bursar at the University of Chester, and in September 2017 became Pro Vice-Chancellor Resources. Prior to this role Richard held several senior finance posts at the University since joining in 2002.
Richard has a keen interest in staff development and performance and promotes continuous improvements to ways of working. He is responsible for the managing the Finance department, Procurement and the Department of Legal Services. This role includes financial planning to ensure the successful implementation of the current Citizen Student strategy, statutory and regulatory compliance and value for money.
