International Women’s Day talk in Warrington explores misogynoir - the racism and misogyny facing black women and girls

Writer, educator, researcher and activist, Chantelle Lunt, will explore the toxic effects of misogynoir - the intersection of anti-black racism and misogyny - and how this manifests in schools, the workplace, online, and in the healthcare system.

The free talk, Manifestations of Misogynoir: Improving Experiences for Black Women and Girls, will be presented on Friday (March 8), from 1pm to 2pm.

Chantelle will look at how misogynoir shapes experiences and perpetuates inequalities for black women and girls. She will also examine strategies for fostering environments that are inclusive, equitable, and empowering.

Among her roles, Chantelle is the founder of Merseyside Black Lives Matter (BLM) Alliance, a co-founder of Reclaim Pride Liverpool, and co-chair of the United We Stand - Solidarity Network. She is also the chair of Merseyside Alliance for Racial Equality Community Interest Company (CIC), a non-profit organisation, committed to promoting racial equality across Merseyside through grassroots, community-led work.
