Located only a short 10-minute drive from our Exton Park site, The Hammond is one of the leading providers of performing arts in the North West, and is highly respected throughout the world.
As a vibrant and unique, campus based performing arts institution, The Hammond has an outstanding selection of facilities and resources, including dance and drama studios, a music suite with recording studio, practice rooms and a 420-seat theatre.

University of Chester facilities
Musical Theatre Performance is validated by the University of Chester, but based at The Hammond school. So, although you won’t be based at one of the University’s learning sites, you’ll still be a University of Chester student, and as such, will have access to University facilities such as our fantastic support departments within Student Services, Careers and Employability service, the Students’ Union, clubs and societies, and our extensive range of library services.
Accommodation
The University has a huge range of University-owned accommodation, located either on Exton Park (Parkgate Road), on the border of this site or conveniently located in the centre of Chester.
