International Foundation Programmes

Pathway programmes for students who do not have the required academic or English language levels needed for direct entry to Bachelor's degree programmes.

We have a range of pathway programmes leading to Bachelor's degrees in Business, Law and Social Sciences, Engineering and Computing, Life Sciences and Creative Arts.

Choosing Your Pathway

When choosing your Foundation programme, first consider which undergraduate programme you wish to progress to, as you will need to include both on your application form.

The University of Chester's Centre for Foundation Studies offers programmes that enable you to progress to a wide variety of undergraduate degrees across the University. Specialist tutors and excellent pastoral and academic support are available, and subject specific areas of study relating to the chosen degrees programme are integrated within the Foundation routes.

The programmes are designed to offer a specialist pathway for international students that do not currently meet the University's direct entry requirements. Students will study a core English & Academic Skills module, and four subject-specific modules related to their degree of interest.

The Centre for Foundation Studies is equipped to provide international students with all the support they need for a welcoming and enjoyable experience in the city and University of Chester.
