"The Work Based Learning module is great. Instead of learning in a classroom you are learning at a professional organisation and developing new skills as well as implementing the ones you already have."

At University of Chester there are students from a wide range of backgrounds and I have made a lot of friends from different countries. The university is very welcoming to international students and the same goes for the people of Chester- they are very friendly and helpful.

The city itself is a wonderful place to live. It’s not too crowded but there is always a lively and vibrant atmosphere. There are lots of shops and fun places to visit such as Chester Zoo which is amazing! I love visiting there, it’s a great place to be and the animals are very entertaining.

I love my course because it has provided me with a number of professional work placement opportunities. The Work Based Learning module is great. Instead of learning in a classroom you are learning at a professional organisation and developing new skills as well as implementing the ones you already have. You can also choose where you want to do your placement. In my first year I did my placement at a nursery which was really interesting and a great experience in general.

The teachers on my course are very supportive. They are always available for one-on-one sessions when I have questions. Every student is also allocated a Personal Academic Tutor who can provide advice and guidance on both academic and personal issues.

The course is made up of a variety of assessments. For example, there are essays, presentations, exams and practical assessments as previously mentioned. One of my modules allowed me to pass a First Aid course which will be very helpful in my future career and in every day life.

To sum up the University in three words, I would say fun, supportive and inclusive.
