PRETTY IN PINK
Meg Farrell
It seems there’s been a revolution
Since the times where it was decided
That to be in pink equated being thick
And your head could only hold
Confetti and popped streamers
Floating in a scarce room.
At some point we all ditched
The scene that made us believe
Our thoughts were candy floss
Set to float away like blossom
On a spring skipping breeze.
So
Since we unstitched their misplaced seams
The streets have been filled with
Our most scandalous parades
With Beyonce and Barbie
And an Era’s showcase on display
It turns out that
The Pink Ladies don’t fall far
When they’re being picked for Wednesday’s
So
Let’s let the Hubba Bubba pop
And the Miss Dior girls eavesdrop
With glasses of sweet rosé
The perfect pairing for hearsay
And we will keep the streets dancing
