STARTING AGAIN

Marlena Ankers

At forty, I hold a brush once more,
In a new country, on a distant shore.
The years have passed, but dreams remain,
It’s never too late to start again.

I’m a mother first, and that shaped me,
Raising a child who sees the world differently.
Through his laughter and struggles, I’ve learned to see
That beauty lives in simplicity.

In this new place, I find my way,
Painting my life, day by day.
Each line, each colour, tells my truth,
A story of courage, love, and youth.

Art has no limits, no rules to obey,
It’s mine to create, in my own way.
At forty, I’ve found my voice, my start,
Building a life and painting my heart.
