Biography

Ann-Marie is a Senior Lecturer in the Initial Teacher Education (ITE) department within the School of Education. She is also a member of the Mentor Development Team and Mentoring and Coaching in Education (MACIE) Research Group. She is a specialist in music education. Ann-Marie has over 15 years experience working in education. Her work has been primarily focused on music teaching and learning at secondary school level; she also has experience in primary and early years education, including leading Forest School provision. Ann-Marie is passionate about wanting all children to enjoy to a rich, inspiring education and in her belief that school teachers must be well-supported to facilitate this.

Teaching and Supervision

Ann-Marie teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School of Education. She teaches on a range of courses and modules including the PGCert in Mentoring and Coaching and the music and primary MFL sessions within ITE. In addition, Ann-Marie works with established teachers delivering CPD and mentor training as part of the Mentor Development Team. Outside of the University of Chester, Ann-Marie teaches on secondary music PGCE programmes at Goldsmiths University.
