Dr Adam Keen

Biography

As one of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society's School Postgraduate Tutors and Senior Lecturers, Dr Adam Keen has a range of responsibilities relating to undergraduate and postgraduate student experience across the School of Nursing. In addition to teaching responsibilities, Dr Keen's role ensures that university PGR strategy is implemented within the various school divisions. The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues and students to foster a PGR culture that is vibrant and supportive for students and staff alike. Dr Keen is an experienced research supervisor, and has a special interest in supervision at Level 7.

Teaching and Supervision

Dr Keen works as a senior lecturer within the faculty. He has experience of teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from Levels 4 to 8. This includes a continuous contribution into pre-registration nursing education programmes since 2003 and has taught on numerous professionally accredited programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is an experienced supervisor at Levels 6, 7 and 8 and has a particular specialist knowledge of supporting research at Level 7. Dr Keen has a wealth or programme leadership experience.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Coming from a background in nursing and professional education Dr Keen's research interests have varied including dehumanisation, academic writing and supporting research development. In recent years Dr Keen has focused predominantly on facilitating others to research.
