Biography
Barbara Holliday is the Research & Innovation Co-ordinator for the Faculty of Health, Medicine & Society, at the University of Chester, and leads the Faculty Research & Innovation Professional Services Team. The Faculty Research & Innovation Professional Services Team provide high quality support to the Faculty Business Manager, Associate Dean for Research & Innovation, the Faculty and School Postgraduate Tutors, four School Chairs of Ethics; and the University’s Research & Innovation Office, to deliver the workstreams of the University's Research & Knowledge Exchange Strategy and to achieve KPIs including: increased research grant income; 3* plus quality outputs for REF; to be at or above Cluster J average in at least 4 out of 7 KEF perspectives; to achieve public engagement NCPPE watermark status; to achieve 80% overall satisfaction in PRES in all categories. The Faculty Research & Innovation Professional Services Team provide support for the REF Units of Assessment, ensuring data is collected, organised and presented for review in relation to all aspects of REF in readiness for REF2029. The Faculty Research & Innovation Professional Services Team provide support in relation to knowledge exchange and KEF, capturing data on the different ways the University works with external partners, from businesses to community groups, for the benefit of the economy and society. The Faculty Research & Innovation Professional Services Team administer the Faculty Research & Innovation Committee, the Faculty PGR Committee and administer and coordinate the four School Ethics Committees: the School of Nursing & Midwifery; the School of Society; the School of Allied & Public Health; and Chester Medical School. The Team support PGR Tutors and PGR Supervisors to ensure PGR students have the best educational and student experience during their time at the University of Chester in line with the University’s Citizen Student Strategy. The Team work closely with the four School Postgraduate Tutors to support all PGR activity including: administering PGR programmes from the point of initial enquiry and admission, through annual progress monitoring, to the point of final viva voce examination; processing all PGR forms; organising the annual Faculty PGR Conference; organising Research Culture events (Doctoral Seminar Series; Academic Workshops; and organising PGR Training events for students and supervisors, etc.). The Team also promote Research Culture events from across the University, other Faculties, Research Institutes and Research Centres, to PGR students and staff. The Research & Innovation Team also work with central professional services to support internal and external research funding bids; knowledge transfer partnerships (KTPs), staff conference applications, and provide data for reporting purposes.
