Dr Eve Collins
Head of School
Biography
Eve Collins is the Head of the School of Nursing and Midwifery in the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society at the University of Chester. She provides strategic leadership to the Executive Dean of the Faculty to shape, implement and continually enhance our portfolio of undergraduate and Postgraduate Nursing and Midwifery programmes and support . Dr Eve Collins is a registered Adult Nurse and a Senior Fellow of Advance HE with over twenty years experience in Higher Education. She is also an Appointed Governor for Wirral Community NHS Trust and an active member of a wide range of University committee's.
Teaching and Supervision
Eve is an experienced academic, having taught a diverse range of Nursing and Health Education programmes most recently focused on research, leadership and change management. She provides dissertation supervision to Master students and is a Doctoral supervisor for three students at present. Eve also has experience in curriculum development and recently led on the introduction of our Social Work Degree Apprenticeship programme.
Research and Knowledge Exchange
Eve's research interests can best be described as eclectic having initially focused on the Physical Health needs of the Mentally ill more recent endeavours have explored the role of academic managers and the leadership of faculties concerned with developing the Healthcare workforce of the future.
