Biography

Elizabeth teaches on the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies and provides clinical supervision to students on the course. Elizabeth completed a degree in Applied Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University. After graduating she worked in various Social Prescribing roles and trained as a person-centred counsellor completing a PgDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Elizabeth trained as a High Intensity CBT Therapist at the University of Chester and worked in the NHS as a CBT Therapist for 11 years. Elizabeth developed an interest in Clinical Supervision completing additional Masters Level modules at the University of Chester. Elizabeth was previously the Secretary for the Liverpool branch of the BABCP and involved in event organisation and administration. Elizabeth began her work with the University of Chester in 2020 and continues to run her private practice, Forrest Talking Therapies. Elizabeth is an accredited member of the British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (BABCP) and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Teaching and Supervision

Elizabeth is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She teaches part-time on the Postgraduate Diploma in CBT: High Intensity Training. She contributes to teaching on Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy: Complex Presentations (PS7204). She contributes to marking on this and all other programme modules including Science, Theory and Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy: Depression and Anxiety Disorders (PS7201), Core Skills in CBT: Anxiety and Depression (PS7207) and Supervised Clinical Practice: Depression and Anxiety (PS7208). She also provides clinical supervision to students on the course and is a BABCP KSA portfolio Assessor.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Elizabeth worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in the NHS from 2010 to 2021. Her private practice, Forrest Talking Therapies, has been active since 2016.
