Biography

With almost 20 years of experience as a HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist, I have built a specialised career in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science. My expertise spans advanced diagnostic techniques, laboratory management, and clinical liaison, contributing to high standards of patient care and laboratory efficiency. For six years, I served as Deputy Laboratory Manager in Haematology, where I played a key leadership role in service delivery, quality assurance, and staff development within a busy hospital setting. I have also been actively involved in teaching and mentoring, sharing my knowledge with students, trainee scientists, and colleagues to support professional growth and promote best practices in laboratory science. My extensive laboratory experience coupled with my time in academia has given me a unique insight into the relationship between training, higher education, and career development. My career reflects a strong commitment to scientific excellence, patient safety, and continuous learning within the evolving field of biomedical science.
