Biography
Janes interests lie within the Earth and Environmental Sciences, taking a Geoecological approach to investigating spatial and temporal patterns of terrestrial vegetation. She manages local, UK and international fieldwork and laboratory spaces for Geography and Environment activities. She has played a lead role in developing fieldwork programmes and laboratory spaces. And has responsibility for providing leadership in fieldwork Health & Safety. Jane is working to reduce fieldwork carbon footprints and ensuring our fieldwork is sustainable and inclusive.
Teaching and Supervision
Janes teaching is focused on Biogeography and embedding fieldwork, laboratory skills and carbon literacy into the curriculum. She teaches on the following Modules: • GE4011 Earth and Environment • GE4015 Researching Environments - Module Leader • GE4016 Skills for Change - Module Co-Leader • GE5012 Environmental Change: Minutes to Millennia • GE5019 Physical Research Methods and Geomatics • GE6001 Dissertation (project supervision) • GE6017 Anthropocene • GE6021 International Fieldwork Experience: Physical Geography - Module Leader Jane leads the following residential fieldwork experiences: • First year residential fieldwork to Betws-y-coed • End of second year expedition to Jostedalsbreen, Norway • Final year BSc Geography field visit to AlmerÍa province, southeast Spain
Research and Knowledge Exchange
