Dr Jenny Hardy

Biography

Jenny is a Senior Lecturer in the the Division of Psychology in the School of Society within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She has a Ph.D. and a master's degree in Forensic Psychology, along with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Jenny is engaged in teaching and supervision and her main teaching areas are Forensic Psychology and Qualitative Research Methods. Her research interests are in the areas of Violence Against Women and Girls, Abuse and Women in the Criminal Justice System.

Teaching and Supervision

Jenny has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students on forensic psychology programmes, as well as other core psychology modules and research methods. She currently oversees the level 5 module 'Real world applications in forensic psychology: Project work' and supervises a number of dissertation students, both undergraduate and postgraduate.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Jenny's research interests are in the areas of Violence Against Women and Girls, Abuse and the experiences of Women in the Criminal Justice System. She is particularly interested in qualitative and mixed methods approaches to research, including the use of Participatory Research Methods in reducing the power-imbalance within the research process. Her current work is focusing on exploring experiences of disclosure and non-disclosure of abuse experienced within religious contexts, using visual methods.
