Jennifer's PhD research focuses on the nature of gambling related harm as a social phenomena. The study is qualitative and ethnographic, exploring how individual narratives of harm are nested in broader discourses of addiction, personal agency, trauma and well-being. More broadly, Jennifer's research interests include the experiences of marginalised communities and Social Justice issues including lived/living experiences of poverty and its structural inequities. These interests align with research carried out by fellow colleagues of Social Justice Chester. Projects to date have included working with external partners to design and co-produce an exhibition, Walking Further Together, that aims to highlight individual experiences and narratives of poverty in relation to media representation and policy design.
