Biography
I have been a Child Field Lecturer since February 2022. I completed FHEA in 2023 and am currently studying for PGCert in Higher Education. My career prior to this has all been in Paediatric Nursing. I trained at a Tertiary Children's Hospital and then worked in a District General Hospital for 22 years. Initially working as a Staff Nurse then an Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner (APNP) for 15 years before moving into a Clinical Educator role before moving into Higher Education. In the APNP role I assessed diagnosed and prescribed for children with acute and chronic illness and supported Paediatric resuscitations. I led a paediatric vaccination clinic and supported the annual flu vaccination programme. I have been part of the faculty for Paediatric Intermediate Life Support training and been a committee member on a NICE steering group.
Teaching and Supervision
I have been teaching on the Pre-Registration Nursing Programme since February 2022.
