Associate Professor
Biography
I am an associate professor who works as part of a team within the Centre for Ageing and Mental Health. I have considerable expertise in research, evaluation, teaching, curriculum design and development and consultancy. My research endeavours are supported by my contemporaneous knowledge and expertise of research ethics. As a chairperson for the Health Research Authority (HRA) I currently chair South Yorkshire and the Humber, South Yorks Research Ethics Committee.
Teaching and Supervision
The main focus of my teaching experience and expertise is within postgraduate awards including masters (both taught and self directed) and doctoral. I am currently supervising a number of PhD and Professional Doctoral students.
Research and Knowledge Exchange
Predominately I major on qualitative research including Life Biography, Mass Observation Directives and Diary entries. In addition I undertake a number of evaluation projects focusing on differing health and social care models of service delivery or redesign.
