Biography

With more than twelve years of professional experience at the University of Chester, Matt is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer committed to excellence in every aspect of software development. Matt firmly believes that the success of a project is inherently tied to the experiences of its users. This guiding principle propels his passion for translating user-centric concepts into vibrant, functional software solutions.

Teaching and Supervision

Matt takes on a mentoring role in the CO5019 module (Experiential Learning), where he guides students who work in the Informatics Centre over 6 weeks to produce software products for real-world clients. Matt also teaches over various modules throughout the academic year on aspects of professional software development.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Matt is not directly engaged with research, however, the Informatics Centre help to build software solutions for research studies and support research in this way. The Informatics Centre provides bespoke web design and app development services for local businesses. Matt has helped develop some 250+ pieces of software, web, and mobile apps being utilised by businesses. Matt's area of interest is Artificial Intelligence and wants to explore opportunities in this area.
