Biography

Dr. Myriam Iliovits is a Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at the University of Chester. She is also a lecturer on the MATESOL programme. In her role as an EAP lecturer, she works on the In-Sessional English programme helping students with their academic English needs. She also works on the Pre-sessional English programme to help prepare students for study at the univeristy. In her role as a lecturer in the MATESOL, she is currently module lead of the research methodology module and supervises MA dissertations. Myriam is also part of the English language assessment team at the univeristy and works on designing the various English language proficiency exams that the univeristy uses for admissions. Language assessment is also the area in which she conducts reasearch.

Teaching and Supervision

Myriam is currently teaching on the In-sessional and Pre-sessional English programmes as well as the MATESOL.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Myriam's research interests are in language testing. More specifically, her PhD deals with language use in an English Medium Instruction university and the implications for the validity of international and local English tests for admissions.
