Biography

Mark Sibson is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Education at the University of Chester, UK. He oversees several core modules in the secondary PGCE programme, including leading on Secondary Professional Studies, Skills Audits and Digital Literacy. Mark runs the Secondary Computer Science PGCE and has worked with the University since January 20202. Mark is a trained Ofsted inspector with 22 years of teaching experience with 15 of those in Senior Management. Mark specialises in behaviour management and safeguarding with a particular focus on e-safety. Mark also leads on PSHE for the faculty.

Teaching and Supervision

Mark supervises and examines on wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has written, delivered and examines postgraduate modules across Primary and Secondary PGCE courses.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Mark undertakes research and knowledge exchange in three related areas: computer science pedagogy, behaviour management and PSHE. He has written papers comparing PSHE teaching methods across the world.
