Phil Sturla

Biography
Phil Sturla is a Technical Officer in the School of Natural Sciences (SNS) in the faculty of Science, Business and Enterprise developing and delivering practical teaching to the undergraduates in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. In addition Phil organises Chemistry activities for the Foundation year students as well as workshops for local schools and academy's as a STEM ambassador. Phil has been key in writing risk assessment for all the above laboratory activities, ensuring that not only are the students are safe but also their colleagues. Phil's blend of technical expertise and creative flair has allowed him with the use of conceptual and quantitative models to solve problems and generate ideas.

The majority of Phil Sturla's research interests have been industrial based, gaining expertise in biotechnology, drilling (Workover & Completion) fluids, automotive fluids (Coolants & Brake fluids) and fuel additives.
