Biography

Paul Worsfold is a Professor of Sports Biomechanics and Performance Analysis at the University of Chester, UK. Since joining the university in 2006, Paul has played a key role in the development and implementation of sports biomechanics and performance analysis within the sports science degree and postgraduate pathways.

Teaching and Supervision

Professor Worsfold has extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Sports Biomechanics and Performance Analysis. He has helped develop and deliver the Master of Sports Performance Analysis and Biomechanics program at the University. Additionally, he is actively involved in teaching within the MSc Sports Sciences and Medicine Pathways

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Paul has successfully supervised over 50 Masters Dissertations and guided 7 PhD students to completion. He remains committed to fostering the integration of applied sports science within the high-performance sports industry. Through strategic industry partnerships, Paul has developed research opportunities for students, enabling them to gain practical experience and tackle applied research themes that yield impactful insights in both industry and academia. These collaborations have led to the exploration of diverse research topics spanning sports biomechanics, injury mechanics, equipment validation and development, and performance analytics.
