Biography

Senior Midwifery Lecturer within the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Society Rachell Heath joined the University of Chester in 2021, and prior to this worked as a clinical midwife. She was part of a bereavement team which involved providing care to families during the intrapartum period who experienced a perinatal loss. In addition, she worked as an IT midwife alongside her clinical role which enabled her to gain a greater understanding of the NHS Digital Transformation programme.

Teaching and Supervision

Rachell Heath is a senior midwifery lecturer on the BSc Midwifery programme. She is module lead for MW4302 Maternal and Newborn Care Part 1; MW4303 Maternal and Newborn Care Part 2; MW5301 Emergency Skills for Midwifery Care and joint module lead for MW6302 Critical Perspectives in Maternity Care. She is also an academic assessor for Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Leighton Hospital.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Rachell has a particular interest in research which enhances midwifery education.
