Biography
Dr Wasiu Are joined the Department of Social and Political Science as a Lecturer in Economics in 2019. Prior to joining the University of Chester, he was a lecturer at the University College Dublin and the University of Exeter.
Teaching and Supervision
He currently teaches on the following modules: • SO4002 Skill for Economics • SO4003 Introduction to Micro and Macroeconomics • SO5007 Industrial Economics • SO6002 Economic Development and Growth
Research and Knowledge Exchange
His research and teaching interests lie in the areas of applied and empirical microeconomics. He is particularly interested in income inequality, poverty analysis, economic growth and marginal tax reform. Currently, his research focuses on the effects of tax, transfer and the distribution of household income.
