Biography

Wayne has 25 years clinical experience in a variety of areas, ranging from Early Intervention in Psychosis, to homelessness services and substance misuse detox and community provisions. He is qualified in family interventions and psychological therapies with patients who experience psychosis. Wayne also lectures at the University of Chester on the mental health nursing programmes.

Teaching and Supervision

Teaches mainly practice modules and preparing mental health student nurses for the world of practice and engaging with concepts such as risk, dual diagnosis, therapeutic relationships, family work, engagement and the management of self in applying student nurses when under pressure in clinical practice.

Research and Knowledge Exchange

Interested in research into compassionate practice and the notion of students learning or being taught how to be compassionate. Interested in research into the international student experience while studying all fields of nursing at the University of Chester.
