Biography
As a professor in Food Science at University of Chester, Dr. Weili Li has been leading functional research group in acrive applicaiton and completion research projects funded by UKRI and international funding bodies and industry. Weili has been also leading and teaching MSc Food Science and Innovation programme to sustain the development of this programme and supervising MPhil and PhD students.
Teaching and Supervision
Professor Weili has been leading and teaching MSc Food Sciences and Innovation courses and teaching BSc Human Nutrition courses at University of Chester. She has also involved the teaching on application of research methods and data analysis in Food Science research.
Research and Knowledge Exchange
Weili’s research interests focus on focus on characterization of bioactive components and development of smart formulation and innovative processing to corporate them into food products for adding health claims/benefits. She has attracted significant income and completed numerous research, consultacy and training projects founded by UKRI, international funding bodies, acdemic and industrial collaborators as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, supervised more than 10 PhD students to successful completion and published over 100 peer reviewed articles, conference presentations and project reports. Her international reputation in these fields attracts regular invitations to present at national and international conferences.
