Postgraduate Research Degree Fees
Please note that this information on fees is intended as a guide only.
The fees listed are those payable directly to the University for registration on the programme of study and do not, of course, include such items as:
- thesis/dissertation binding costs
- conference registration and travel costs
Please see below the Home and International Postgraduate Research Degree fees.
Each year, UKRI usually increases its PGR fee rates in line with inflation based on the Treasury GDP deflator. Minimum fees recommended by UKRI are adopted at the University of Chester for Home-level tuition fees for most postgraduate research programmes.
Fee rates for 2025/26 have not yet been confirmed by UKRI therefore please refer to 2024/25 rates as a guide. UKRI have previously applied a 2% p.a. increase, however due to the current inflation situation this % increase may differ. As more information emerges, this page will be updated.
