Libraries

The University libraries hold over 200,000 books, plus journals and other resources. In addition we hold a wealth of electronic resources covering a range of subject areas.
Seaborne Library
The University of Chester has numerous libraries across its different campuses, and all staff and students of the University are welcome to use any of the libraries.
In addition to books, journals, and other resources, all libraries have computers, study areas, and bookable study rooms. Subject-specialist staff are available at all sites to support learning.
Online resources can be accessed through the University Portal and books can be requested for collection from the most convenient site.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout all the libraries and some libraries offer 24/7 access with a University card.
All staff and students can borrow a number of books using their University Card. We have RFID self-issue in the Seaborne and Wheeler Libraries, and issue and return services are offered at our other locations.
Accessibility in the library
The libraries welcome students, staff and visitors with disabilities and Specific Learning Difficulties. Please contact us if you require assistance with our services or if you have any questions or feedback. Contact the Inclusion and Disability team for details of support across the university.
Accessing the libraries
There are library access routes for people with a mobility impairment.
All helpdesks have a Hearing Loop
We offer a click and collect service where you can request books from the library shelves to be collected at a library of your choice.
Support for your studies
