Course Summary

The number of children and young people being identified as having special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) has increased exponentially across the UK since 2016, with the figure for England currently reported to be over 17% of all pupils in schools. This means that SEND is the responsibility of all those working with children and young people and it is more important than ever to ensure that all educational professionals have the confidence and knowledge to identify, support and meet the needs of learners with SEND.

This new PGCert course has been designed to support all practitioners to develop their knowledge and understanding of effective provision and practice for children and young people with SEND. The course would be suitable for both early career and experienced teachers, teaching assistants, senior leaders and any support staff involved in the support of learners with SEND.
