Our Programme Routes

Your Foundation Year will be structured in the same way as any other year of your undergraduate studies – with modules and credit.

You will study three 40-credit subject-specific modules. One for each of your three terms across the undergraduate academic year. These are large blocks of focused teaching and learning and allow you to cover topics specific to your degree in broader depth.

Each module is worth 20 credits, enabling you to achieve 120 credits in total.

As a Foundation Year student, you’ll be a part of the undergraduate community from day one. You will have a Centre dedicated to your Foundation Year based at the Rigg Building and supporting our Marriss House and Warrington sites, while at the same time being fully integrated into the University with access to all of our facilities, such as Student Services, Chester Students’ Union, sports and societies, and events that will help make your university experience a rich and enjoyable one.
