Janet Taylor

Janet is a Lecturer in Law and Business for the Centre for Foundation Studies and has worked at the university for several years in various roles.

I have worked at the University of Chester for over ten years and have been part of the Centre for Foundation Studies since the department was established.

Having worked in retail for over a decade, I took the decision to study at the University of Chester as a mature student. I completed a Law degree and followed this with a postgraduate MBA , whilst also juggling family and work commitments.

Having the experience of studying at the University of Chester as a mature student, and working in several departments at the university I am mindful of the challenges that students face when studying. I have a strong interest in widening participation in higher education and supporting student’s transition from foundation year to level 4 education.
