Before arriving at the University of Chester in 2021 as a Senior Lecturer, I was invited to work as a visiting lecturer for 3 academic years, teaching Early Years – Primary Art & Design for post-graduate students.

Having qualified as a teacher from the University of Chester, I enjoyed teaching in a Chester school for 19 years. I worked in a Church of England primary school teaching across Key Stage One and Key Stage Two and holding subject responsibilities for Art & Design, Design Technology and Religious Education and I was one of the Designated Safeguarding Officers. I was selected to participate in two opportunities of Teachers International Professional Development in Jamaica and Canada. This involved visiting a variety of schools, collating information and reporting findings to their Education Boards and senior leaders in education.
